Sustainable Seating
Sustainable Seating
At Sauder Manufacturing Co., we make resourcefully responsible choices that minimize our carbon footprint while manufacturing sustainable seating and furniture. We care for our planet through various sustainable design and stewardship programs. We’ve been environmentally friendly since our start in 1934, using wood scraps from building pews to produce additional furniture.
Our organization, as a whole, implements multiple processes to help keep us green. We offer programs to assist customers in repurposing and reusing our furniture. Sauder Manufacturing Co. also has policies for energy conservation, environmental management, sustainability, and more. Many of our products are renewable and BIFMA e3 Level® and GREENGUARD® certified.
In our Archbold, OH, location, we turn sawdust and wood fragments into energy to help power our pre-dryer and kiln. We donate scrap wood to those in the community who can use it to heat their homes. Local farmers use our sawdust to create bedding for their animals.
We are committed to responsibly sourcing, conserving energy, recycling material, and enhancing internal processes through greener practices. These commitments help to protect our planet now and for future generations.
